How to Use the Chuck Plate for Wool Shearing Grinder?

In the livestock breeding industry, the sharpness of combs and cutters for professional electric sheep shears directly determines the working efficiency and operating experience of shearers. The chuck plate for grinding machines is a core supporting accessory used to attach abrasive cloth or sandpaper to grinding discs for blade sharpening preparation. Many livestock farmers, animal husbandry equipment distributors and professional shearing teams often encounter problems such as glue bubbling, surface bulging and poor adhesion when replacing the sandpaper or abrasive cloth by themselves, which seriously affects normal operation and usage.

Combined with the disassembly and assembly drawings of the chuck plate, this article elaborates on the complete process of pasting, compressing and curing, serving as a practical reference for shearers and professional shearing teams.

1. Tightening Bolt: The core load-bearing locking part that runs through the entire assembly to provide compression force.

2. Gasket: Distributes pressure from the bolt and prevents cracking and deformation at the edge of the grinding disc.

3. Grinding Disc: The base component for attaching abrasive cloth or sandpaper, which is directly used to sharpen combs and cutters of electric sheep shears.

4. Double-sided Chuck Plate: Positions and holds two grinding discs symmetrically to realize synchronous compression and curing for double-sided adhesion.

5. Nut: Matches with the tightening bolt; tightening it completes compression of the entire assembly.

We supply Professional Clamp Plates & Bolt matched for grinding machines. Generally, abrasive cloth or sandpaper needs to be pasted onto the grinding disc (Part 3). First, thoroughly clean the surface of both grinding discs and apply an even coat of special adhesive (approximately 20 milliliters). Next, attach the back side of the abrasive cloth to the disc surface and press firmly by hand to squeeze out air bubbles for a flat finish. Then place the pasted grinding discs onto the standby double-sided chuck plate (Part 4), and fasten the tightening bolt (Part 1) and nut (Part 5) to compress the two grinding discs and the double-sided chuck plate tightly.

Leave the assembly to cure for about 30 minutes or longer according to ambient weather and temperature. Once fully cured, remove the grinding discs with attached abrasive cloth for immediate use.
